Wintery hermit frosticle blues . .

I've been feeling so unproductive lately.
Sitting here almost every day writing, is such a lonesome road to be traveling.

At least with university there were deadlines to meet, and I'd have to cut myself short in order to get on with the making of each project.
I have been trying to give myself deadlines, but how are they going to work when I can give myself extensions every few days. LoL.

I need to get out and meet some more people, talk about some other things and free myself from this hermit like state.
And the cold weather certainly doesn't help.

Oooh frost.

I should actually be making the most of the wintery weather.

Being cosy, warm and tapping away on the taptop most days is not exactly a bad thing, in fact I bet most people would love to have this opportunity.

So I'll quite winging and make the most of it.

I'm only hibernating after all. =]
I'm warm, cosy and quietly productive.

It's all good.

Aw, excellent.
Glad I sorted that out.

Kettle on . . and on with the show.

It's been a while . .

I haven't blogged for some time now. Oops.
I've been a busy Clairey Fairy

I have been involving myself in many projects over the past few months in order to keep myself busy, this has included much writing! =D some art, film, photography and far too much reading =D lol

So have put animation and 3D on the sidelines at the moment in order to concentrate on the priorities of 'now' =]

Once my writing is complete, I hope to get back into my modeling and animating and bring these stories to life, but one step at a time . .

Sometimes I forget there is only me =]

Would be great to have someone to collaborate with on these projects.
It seems everyone is very busy with life at the moment, and working their jobs and finding their own time just to relax.

But I'm still keeping an eye out =]

If any of you have the spare time and are interested in making a short animated film to put into film festivals and competitions, let me know, i think its an awesome idea =D

Aim High.

Just trying to get by won't fill your sails with the wind you need.

Its when your life feels like a movie or a great novel that you do your best and manifest the abundance you've always imagined.

Making the world a better place is as powerful an incentive you'll ever need.

I smile.

Vintage Bell & Howell Camera

Wow.

One of my best friends got this wonderful camera today.

A vintage Bell & Howell 16mm Autoload Cine-Camera, passed down the generations. We think it's from the 40s or 50s.

I must have sat there in awe for at least an hour.

'The possibilities. . .'

I love it so much.

We were looking online for 16mm film reel/casette for it, but the type it needs seems to have ceased production in 1976.

I hope we can find some somewhere, would be so great to film with it. . =]

Notice the Kodak wrapper has square written 'sqare'

The school taught me that 'Q' is Never written without a 'U'

I half wonder if this was a spelling mistake or not?

Makes me think of 1984's 'oldspeak', 'newspeak'.

Ooh . .  =]

Interrupted - WIP

This is another little animation I've been working on for the past few days.

I downloaded a sound clip (Jack Nicholson - The Shining) and plan on animating a little scene to go along with it.

The rig was a downloadable free rig supplied by Rodri Torres (Thank you =D)

I can't remember what the real scene actually consists of and have refused to look it up at the moment incase it somehow changes my thoughts on what I want it to look like, i think it's a good test of how as an artist I picture a scene from only hearing what it sounds like. =]

Once I have animated this, I'll then look up the real scene and see the comparisons.

Modelling the environment took me about 4 hours, and then I spent 5 hours texturing it, I've still to texture a few bits and bobs but i'll get round to that once I have the textures i'd like to use.

Ive blocked out the main poses for Alfred and started refining them, I'm really enjoying it though, the last couple of seconds is a lot more difficult than i first expected, mainly because of so many quick hand gestures, but it's getting there, Once i have fixed these, i will post a video of the animation.

Can't wait to see it when it's finished properly.

Some quick low poly renders =]

Mr Generi Parkour

Trying my hand at a little parkour.

This took me 7 hours to model and animate last night.

The Generi rig was supplied by Andrew Silke.

I wanted to try my hand at animating something with a variety of poses.

This particular clip is from a french film called District 13.

I think the blocking in is 'A'ok' though i don't like his little jump at the beginning, he's in the air too long, and he also stalls a bit going through the top of the door.

Still have secondary animation & facial expressions to sort out on him yet, but he'll have to sit on the backburner for a little while as I have an emotional avatar project to complete for university.

My "contribution to Animation Research" (sounds awesome.)

I will spend more time on Mr Generi Parkour when I get time again.

I hope he'll look good when he's finished.

Resourceful Illery

"Resourceful Illery.

We don't even know what it means.

But the bell has good ideas.

And when we put our good ideas together.

They become 'Really' good ideas."

Miss McQuayle - Walk

Basic Walk - Miss McQuayle

Headteacher of Blackfort Academy

I modelled, textured, rigged & animated this character as part of my honours project this year.
I completed 3 characters for my project, however I liked Miss McQuayle the best, even though she was the nasty one =D LoL

WIP - Club Task

A little mission to complete. =]
