Aim High.
Its when your life feels like a movie or a great novel that you do your best and manifest the abundance you've always imagined.
Making the world a better place is as powerful an incentive you'll ever need.

Vintage Bell & Howell Camera
Wow.
A vintage Bell & Howell 16mm Autoload Cine-Camera, passed down the generations. We think it's from the 40s or 50s.
I must have sat there in awe for at least an hour.
'The possibilities. . .'
I love it so much.
We were looking online for 16mm film reel/casette for it, but the type it needs seems to have ceased production in 1976.
I hope we can find some somewhere, would be so great to film with it. . =]

Notice the Kodak wrapper has square written 'sqare'
The school taught me that 'Q' is Never written without a 'U'
I half wonder if this was a spelling mistake or not?
Makes me think of 1984's 'oldspeak', 'newspeak'.
Ooh . . =]

Interrupted - WIP
I downloaded a sound clip (Jack Nicholson - The Shining) and plan on animating a little scene to go along with it.
The rig was a downloadable free rig supplied by Rodri Torres (Thank you =D)
I can't remember what the real scene actually consists of and have refused to look it up at the moment incase it somehow changes my thoughts on what I want it to look like, i think it's a good test of how as an artist I picture a scene from only hearing what it sounds like. =]
Once I have animated this, I'll then look up the real scene and see the comparisons.
Modelling the environment took me about 4 hours, and then I spent 5 hours texturing it, I've still to texture a few bits and bobs but i'll get round to that once I have the textures i'd like to use.
Ive blocked out the main poses for Alfred and started refining them, I'm really enjoying it though, the last couple of seconds is a lot more difficult than i first expected, mainly because of so many quick hand gestures, but it's getting there, Once i have fixed these, i will post a video of the animation.
Can't wait to see it when it's finished properly.
Some quick low poly renders =]

Mr Generi Parkour
Trying my hand at a little parkour.
This took me 7 hours to model and animate last night.
The Generi rig was supplied by Andrew Silke.
I wanted to try my hand at animating something with a variety of poses.
This particular clip is from a french film called District 13.
I think the blocking in is 'A'ok' though i don't like his little jump at the beginning, he's in the air too long, and he also stalls a bit going through the top of the door.
Still have secondary animation & facial expressions to sort out on him yet, but he'll have to sit on the backburner for a little while as I have an emotional avatar project to complete for university.
My "contribution to Animation Research" (sounds awesome.)
I will spend more time on Mr Generi Parkour when I get time again.
I hope he'll look good when he's finished.

Resourceful Illery
"Resourceful Illery.
We don't even know what it means.
But the bell has good ideas.
And when we put our good ideas together.
They become 'Really' good ideas."
Miss McQuayle - Walk
Basic Walk - Miss McQuayle
Headteacher of Blackfort Academy
I modelled, textured, rigged & animated this character as part of my honours project this year.
I completed 3 characters for my project, however I liked Miss McQuayle the best, even though she was the nasty one =D LoL

Average Jo-ette

Average Jo-ette.
Just an average mum, living in an average town.
For my Honours Project this year, I wanted to design and develop the concept for an animated series based around the life of a single parent mother called Jo.
Admittedly it was far too much for a single person to take on. I didn't expect to have a finished 10 minute immaculate production quality episode ready for the big screen, but to me, this was the whole reason I wanted to go to uni. I wanted to see wether I would ever be capable of writing and animating my own series, it was something i've dreamed of since i was so young and the only way to try to do that, was to soldier on relentlessly.
So I did.
*fairy ftw*
I managed to develop and script the first 3 episodes for the series, along with a good 5 or 6 notebooks of concepts or ideas or random happenings to add here or there, which was awesome because a lot of it was just random happenings and thoughts picked up through my own day to day life.
I designed, developed, modelled, textured, rigged, lip-synced and animated the 3 main characters (Jo, Miss McQuayle & Tanya) including background stories and character profiles, I modelled & textured the school environment & park, Jo's home, street & car.
And in the last month I recorded and edited the dialogue for each character, SFX and theme music as my sound guy mysteriously vanished mid february.
'Thanks mister audio guy' *ThumbsUp*
With some post production help from a fantastic friend of mine Steve Millar, the final piece to be submitted was a very amateur but 'complete' 2 minute 30 second extract of the first episode.
I wish I had more time and energy to work on the visual style and learn more about lighting and rendering, and spend more time on texturing, I maybe could have had it looking a lot better, but alas, not to worry, there's still plenty time for all that.
The final outcome was not to have a complete fantastic looking piece, although this would have been absolutely fantastic! But more, I wanted to learn the practical side to developing, directing and producing a series, and being that this was my last year at university, and having the masses of university resources available to me, I would possibly never have that time or that opportunity open to me again.
It was a project I felt passionate about as a mother and as an artist, passion to me, was the most important thing.
But until I find the time to finish it off, I'll mostly be working on my rigging & animation skills.
Pipe dreams don't put food on the table.
=]
Some screenshots.

I'll be the first to admit that it's not the most amazing piece of animation or lipsyncing or modelling, or rigging, or texturing OR lighting OR rendering LoL!! =D
but I did it =] and I graduated, with 2:1 Honours.
Awesome.

Who's Crazy..?

Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits.
The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round heads in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They're not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status-quo.
You can quote them.
Disagree with them.
Glorify, or villify them.
But the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.
While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
